Holy Rosary Abbey is a large Monastic facility which accommodates a dual community of Benedictine Monks and Nuns - built in the centuries old form of a "quadrangle"   -   being a self contained traditional Monastic Abbey.

The Oratorium Sancti Benedicti is a traditional Monastic Choir Chapel where the Divinum Officium (Divine Office) and the Missa Principalis (Conventual Mass) are offered in their Benedictine Monastic Rite (Latin), commonly known as the  Tridentine Rite; as promulgated, Codified, and Sanctified by St. Pius V and the Council of Trent.

Within the Oratory itself is the Crypt are three altars that are specifically used for offering the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass by our Priests and visiting Priests in union with the Conventual Mass. Our private Chapels, dedicated to our Lady, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary and St. Philomena, are quaint and private Chapels where one can find great comfort in the Presence of Our Lord in the Most Blessed Sacrament.

The Abbey contains a large monastic library and Scriptorium, housing the general & spiritual library as well as the Abbot's Library, which is dedicated to Canon Law, Theology and Benedictine Studies. With several parlors and long corridors filled with statues and holy pictures, all one needs do is walk the corridors and feel HIS presence while contemplating our search for perfection in the Religious life. Our Monastic Refectory is another place where we encounter Almighty God: in prayer and holy readings, nourishing the body as well as the soul.

Our lives are enriched each moment by the ability to work and walk with God in everything we do: Ora et Labora ... work and pray. Our locked cloisters do not keep us from the world - it keeps negative influence of the world from entering in.  You need "keys" to get in ... not to get out ! We don't run from society - we surrender to our Redeemer in prayer, work, fasting,  penance and sacrifice.

Never before has the world needed the consecrated lives of holy Monks and Nuns! Our apostolate: praying for the salvation of our souls, the souls of our families, friends, benefactors and patrons.  We offer our daily sacrifices for the sins of the world, with a special emphasis on praying and offering our  penances for the Holy Souls.

Suscipe Me Secundum Eloquium Tuum, Et Vivam: Et Non Confundas Me Ab Expectatione Mea !

The daily life of a monastic is one that is well balanced with all of their daily needs, as set by the Holy Rule of St. Benedict: Community Prayer, Work, Exercise, Study (Tyrocinium), Spiritual Reading (Divimum Officium), Private Prayer (Lectio Divina), Recreation, Rest and the Sacramental and Liturgical life.  The Horarium is that which is followed in traditional Benedictine monasteries.  Penance and mortification of the body and the soul are key elements in leading the Monastic in    seeking a life of perfection.

Miser'ere mei, Deus, secundum magnum miseric'oriam tuam; et sec'undum multit'udinrm miserati'onum tuarum, dele iniquitaem meam.  Amlius lava me ab iniquitate mea: et a peccato meo munda me...
